PA 06 Costello
Ryan Costello (R) represents Pennsylvania’s’s 6th congressional district where over 66,000 individuals, including 18,000 children, receive their health care coverage through the state exchange for Obamacare (ACA) and Medicaid expansion. Yet he voted 12 out of 12 times for ACA repeal to take away their health care. Maybe he forgot 48,000 of them are eligible voters. Let us remind him by spelling it out for him – and painting him a picture.
PA-06 is located in the south eastern portion of Pennsylvania and includes portions of Lebanon, Berks, Chester and Montgomery counties.
In the Presidential race, Hillary Clinton won this district by 0.6 %. In the House race, Costello beat his opponent by 52,000 votes, helped in large part by some 27,000 Hillary voters crossing over.
A switch of 26,000 votes (half of 52,000) will defeat Costello in 2018. We can mobilize 75,000 Health Votes to defeat him.
- 27,000 crossover Hillary votes
- 27,000 ACA enrolled votes
- 21,000 Medicaid Expansion votes
- Total Health Vote: 75,000
With 75,000 Health Votes versus the 26,000 needed to defeat him, Costello’s Vulnerability Ratio is 2.9 (highly vulnerable).

Cut-and-paste suggested letter/email/Fax (personalizing helps):
Dear Honorable Representative Costello:
Congratulations on your recent election victory by a margin of 52,000 votes.
I am writing to you out of concern about your position on the Affordable Care Act.
If you vote to repeal the ACA, you will be jeopardizing the health and finances of over 66,000 of your constituents, including 18,000 children.
If compassion for their lives doesn’t sway you, let me remind you that 48,000 of these individuals are eligible voters. Combined with the 27,000 Hillary voters who crossed over to vote for you – and who strongly support Obamacare – 75,000 Health Votes may be mobilized against you, come 2018.
We hope you will do the right thing by your constituents and be a voice for their ongoing health and financial well-being by voting against ACA repeal.
Sincerely,
(Your name here)
