NJ 11 Frelinghuysen
Rodney Frelinghuysen (R) represents the 11th congressional district of New Jersey where over 65,000 individuals, including 19,000 children, receive their health care coverage through Obamacare (ACA) and Medicaid expansion. Yet he voted 17 out of 17 times for ACA repeal to take away their health care. Maybe he forgot 46,000 of them are eligible voters. Let’s remind him by spelling it out for him – and painting him a picture.
NJ-11 is located in the northern portion of the state and includes portions of Morris, Pasaic, Essex and Sussex counties.
In the Presidential race, Hillary Clinton narrowly lost this district by 0.9%. In the House race, Frelinghuysen beat his opponent by 64,000 votes, helped in large part by some 31,000 Hillary voters crossing over.
A switch of 32,000 votes (half of 64,000) will defeat Frelinghuysen in 2018. We can mobilize 77,000 Health Votes to defeat him.
- 31,000 crossover Hillary votes
- 24,000 ACA enrolled votes
- 22,000 Medicaid Expansion votes
- Total Health Vote: 77,000
With 71,000 Health Votes versus the 19,000 needed to defeat him, Frelinghuysen’s Vulnerability Ratio is 2.4 (vulnerable).

Cut-and-paste suggested letter (personalizing helps):
Dear Honorable Representative Frelinghuysen:
Congratulations on your recent election victory by a margin of 64,000 votes.
I am writing to you out of concern about your position on the Affordable Care Act.
If you vote to repeal the ACA, you will be jeopardizing the health and finances of over 65,000 of your constituents – 19,000 of them children.
If compassion for their lives doesn’t sway you, consider the fact that 46,000 of these individuals are eligible voters. Combined with the 31,000 Hillary voters who crossed over to vote for you – and who strongly support Obamacare – 77,000 Health Votes may be mobilized against you, come 2018.
We hope you will do the right thing by your constituents and be a voice for their ongoing health and financial well-being by voting against ACA repeal.
Sincerely,
(Your name here)
